Robert Caron Sr.
Van Buren - Robert E. Caron Sr. "Blue Boy" died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at Borderview Rehab & Living Center in Van Buren, ME. He was born on March 17, 1944 in Van Buren, son of the late Octave F. Jr. and Aline (Picard) Caron.
Robert "Blue Boy" "Bob" was a lifetime long haul truck driver. When he was not on the road, you could find him fishing with his friends. Bob always had stories about his life on the road or one of his fishing trips. During that time he was also a part time Police Officer in Van Buren for over ten years.
No matter where he went he would talk to anyone he met, sometimes many hours even if he had just met the person. To him there was no such thing as a stranger, he'd talk to anyone as if he'd known them for years.
His daily attire consisted of some navy blue dickies and a blue button up shirt. Which is where he got the nickname "Blue Boy." You would not see him wearing anything else unless he was going to church.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sisters, Aline Lasane (Willie) 1994, and Doreen Chase (Phil) 2007.
Bob is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Cormier; his son, Robert E. Caron Jr. and his wife, Colette of Van Buren; his estranged daughter, Lisa Caron of Van Buren; his sisters, Alice Gendreau (Late Percy) and Ann Charity of Grand Isle; his brothers, Roger of New Hampshire, and Roy (Anne) of Conn.; Five grandchildren, Kyla Hammond and her husband, Donald of Portland, Kelsey Caron, Myka Hanson, Danika Pelletier and her husband, Travis, and Noah Pelletier all of Van Buren; six great-grandchildren, Madyson Caron, Timothy "Jun" Hanson Jr., Gracelynn O'Neal, Benjamin Hanson, Emily Levesque, and Sophie Pelletier.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, 174 Main St., Van Buren, ME 04785
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Lille.

Our love & prayers to the "Caron Clan". If you were at any family "gathering" the one name you heard most was "Pepere". My favorite memory is when Jayce (age 3) met "Pepere", she asked him what can I called you? his reply was "well my fille, if your here then pepere it is", then he shared some juice with her. At bed time that night Jayce said "I have a new pepere and he loves me momma he telled me so". This is the kind of man he was and he will ALWAYS be "PEPERE" to us.
