Penny Jean Kelly

Allagash - Penny Jean Kelly, 82, entered into her eternal reward of heaven on August 1, 2019. Penny was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and lifelong friend to many. She was a faithful member of the Allagash Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Penny loved to be surrounded by her friends and family, whether it was at her home or out in the community. She was an avid baker, and the smell of homemade bread and lemon filled cookies will always be a smell that will bring her to mind for many.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ransford "Pike" Kelly, sons Timmy Kelly and his wife Karie, Randy Kelly and his wife Lisa, Darren Kelly and his wife Jayd, all of Allagash, ME, Kevin Kelly and his wife Linda of Milford, ME, daughters Carla Albert and her husband Allan, Bethann Thibodeau and her husband Rodney, both of St. Francis, ME, and Lynn Hebert and her husband John of Fort Kent, ME.
To her 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, she was known as "Ole Mum", a name she embraced and will always be remembered by.
Penny was predeceased by her father Arthur Jean, mother Annie Jean, father-in-law Harley Kelly, mother-in-law Elizabeth Kelly, and grandson Codyallen Bennett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Allagash Baptist Church on August 10 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice Home, 180 West Rte 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.

Old Mum was family to me. She was Ambers grandmother. One of my best friends, but she wasn't just Ambers grandmother for me. She did what everyone from Allagash did and took me in as one of her own. I was first adopted by Dad & Mom. My second adoption was when we moved to Maine and I gained so much more family. Old Mum, I will miss you.

Praying for the Lord's comfort for the whole family. John 14:18 Jesus said, I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. He will comfort us all as we lean on Him. God bless you with His peace and His presence.
