You were the prime example of "time changes a man". As a child and daughter, I couldn't wait to grow up and get away from your chaos and rage. You were solely focused on your own satisfaction, the kids and wife were just collateral damage. As I grew old and you grew older, I saw a man living with regret and the aftermath of the life choices he made. You'd think a man like that would die alone and unloved. Dad, you're a blessed man. You're blessed because who had kids who, due to no effort on your part, knew how to forgive and show grace. We loved you in spite of you and that love transformed you in your final years, your son (and his wife) the man who was once the child you terrorize
...d, becoming your loving caregiver and lifeline. We were able to treat you this way because of our conviction that it was God's desire, Gods will, and we therefore showed you mercy. Dad, we had our chats about Christ's gift of salvation and forgiveness. I pray you took it to heart. I was so sad to hear that you'd left the world, but if your new home is with Christ and you're young and spry again my spirit is jumping for joy. Dad, life is short. I'm going to go live it the best I can and I'll see you when I'm done. I love you.Read more

I knew Burt from various experiences that we shared together. He had several haircuts with us at the Stowe Barber Shop and he regaled Megan and me with stories of his various adventures. One day he came in and collected a dozen of our scissors because he wanted to create some sort of art work with them. I even gave Burt's a haircut at Copley Hospital while he was a patient there. Burt had a sense of humor and he always expressed appreciation for every little thing that someone did for him. He loved his son, Peter and wife, Patrice. Burt was and is a product of God's "Wash and redemption Center". Those of us who have faith in Christ will be seeing Burt on the "other side".

Dear Dad,
You were not understood by many, but in your later years you tried to open yourself up to Forgiveness and Love. This is no easy task when your used to doing things, your way. You asked questions, your heart was opening up, and you just needed more people to press into your life with Forgiveness and Love, and let you know it's okay to be real, honest and to express yourself. PRIDE is the greatest enemy for anyone wanting to rise above the obscurity of a broken heart, unrealized dreams and put away the blame. My scars have heeled because I prayed them away, loved you when you were unlovable and believed in a higher purpose to all this. You died dad knowing you were loved - my wife Pa
...tty, who you referred to as " Mama-san " treated you like her own father, with Love and Generosity and supported every effort and endeavor with you. Our goal was to place a new song in your heart and to represent Jesus. In your last years others thought of you as " The Least of These " but I, finally in my life....FINALLY....just thought of you as Dad. We are not perfect, but it is in our imperfection that He makes all things perfect. " My Grace is sufficient for You for My Power is Made Perfect in Weakness " ( 2 Corinthians 12 : 9 ) You leave us with us knowing you have accepted Christ and are at peace, not in pain. We commit you into His loving arms forever more.
