July 18, 1940 - December 25, 2018

Joel Cyr Madawaska-Joel J. Cyr of Madawaska passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on December 25, 2018 at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, Maine.
Joel was born on July 18, 1940, the son of Rita (Dumond) Cyr-Bosse and the late George Cyr. He is predeceased by a daughter, Shelly Cyr and a brother, Gilman (ti-Guy) Cyr.
He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Nancy (Cyr) Cyr and three sons, Scott Cyr of Westbrook, ME, Jason Cyr and his wife, Cindy of Edmundston, N.B. and Wayne Cyr of Madawaska, ME; seven granchildren, Dean, Jeffrey, Ian, Brooke, Ellie, Mason and Madox Cyr; one great-grandson, Oliver Cyr; five brothers, Gerald, Johnny, James, George Jr. and Jeffrey; seven sisters, Geraldine, Germaine, Johanne, Juliette, Joyce, Jackie and Judy and many nieces and nephews.
Joel was a family man and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He was a quiet and patient man, a hard worker and was always willing to give a helping hand.
A celebration of his life will be held in July of 2019 with his family.
Spring interment will be at the Caribou Veteran Cemetary also in July of 2019.

I got to Know Joel while working at the mill in Madawaka, good worker, one thing I remember most about Joel was, I never heard a bad word come out of his mouth. May he Rest In Peace.My sincere Sympathy to Nancy, Jason, Wayne, Scott and the rest of the family.
